A lot of “healing” these days is centred around soothing our wounded parts. And whilst this is important work, it isn’t the end of the journey.
It’s completely understandable to want to stay within the comfort zone your nervous system has created. But if you want more out of life, at some point those parts of you need to learn not just that the trauma is over, but that the experiences they once associated with danger — specifically experiences centred around self-expression and authenticity — are no longer threats.
